The Dorchester Reporter reports the Boston Landmark Commission precocious voted to marque the Massachusetts Tribe's Mattapan Rhyolite Quarry, down St. Angela’s Church on Babson and Cookson streets, a "pending landmark." The people utilized the spot to excavation retired rhyolite, "an past volcanic chromatic prized for its banded maroon colour and perfect qualities for making chromatic tools."
